Hey Cowboy don't worry to much about the likes mate.
I remember how much trouble I had just getting the engine out of your kitchen.

I've got a bit more of the front end done.
In way of the support rods for the spring.

I'm glad it's only in primer I've been knocking paint off all over the place.
Still there's a few spots I'll be attacking with the grinder, so it's going to get worse before it gets better!

I'm pretty happy the way the spring has come out considering only one of six plates is steel.
The head stock is being a little stubborn about things, hopefully I can give it a bit of a hurry up today.

    Cheers.
    Trevor.

Most impressed Dave really fine use of a curtain rod.
Mind you I had no idea what you guy's are talking about.
I thought "Chuck" was the name of any American sailor on shore leave!
And more to the point who many kinds of these chuck things to make a piece of
wood go round and round are there anyway?
That's a rhetorical question by the way!

    Steve love the Repliconics line.
But are you suggesting that it's to make good use of what's available or just plain weird?
Either way I'm more than happy with it!
Your right in that Dave's contraption lacked bodyfiller.
Some PVC pipe, paper clips and the wigwam from a goose's bridle may have helped it along as well.
But he's still young and has time to learn!

    Cheers Guy's.

    Not weird - resourceful.
It's good to see that Dave has been paying attention in class.

And PVC pipe is a good idea, a lot of guys use it for the cup section of a vacuum chuck setup.

If I had PVC and body filler I would have done that stud piece out of PVC and body filler and made it look real sexy.

I may do another thread on yet another home made chuck I made yesterday ... look out for it

Well I should have the head stock for the front end finished today.
Hopefully it stops raining so I can through some paint around.
But either way by the end of the day the petrol tank will be cut in half.

    2/3 scale Indian Straight Four.-img_1865-jpg

I built the tank to the scale of a 1927 Straight Four, but with the modifications I've made to the front end
to allow for what will be the wrong sized wheel.
The tank really looks a little to small, so I'll cut in half and add a few more 16mm sections to widen it.
To get the line right I think it needs to be at least the width of the front folks.
It should be a big improvement to the overall appearance of the bike.
    Well here's hoping anyway!

WOW WOW and WOW really is coming along in leaps and bounds. You are a brave man to want to cut up the tank after all the work that has gone into it, but having said that I have been known to jump on a complete superstructure of a scale model ship just because I was not happy with it only trying to correct a wrong looking bit would make it look worse so starting again is the only way forward.

It was the first attempt at this one that got crushed

This was still not completed when this photo was completed also I think I should have dusted it before taking this photo

Trevor, make sure you bring a tape measure to Dugal's shed in 3 weeks' time. Don't cut the tank yet until you see the full size one!
