After heading off course with making the petrol tank.
I got myself back on track and finished building the frame.
As you can see at the moment it's only in primer.
I'd reduced the size of the engine mounts so I put it all back together to check the alignment.

From here I'll make the seat, exhaust pipe, battery box and fit the toolbox I've all ready made.
IMG_1831.jpg IMG_1832.jpg IMG_1826.jpg
I'll leave the frame in primer for a while as it doesn't matter if I knock the paint on it around
while fitting the other parts.

I thought I'd bring the trusty old Coke can out of retirement
to show the scale.
Well I've still got daylight so back to it.
Cheers.

Oooohhh.... I get it....
You've made an enlarged "Coke-can" so your Indian motorbike looks like it's built on a smaller scale....
Astonishing really... My eyes see it... But my brain don't believe it!
I predict you will have to build a wire box around that kickstarter... To stop idiots just like me 'trying it out'....Last edited by Big Shed; 12th July 2017 at 11:54 AM.

It's been raining here for the last three days.
Not the best weather for working under a carport with MDF.
But apart from building the battery box and it's mounting bracket.
I made a start on exhaust.
I used my three favourite things MDF, PVC and Bodyfiller.
I've only just shaped the fishtail out and it still needs to be finished.
IMG_1837.jpg
The exhaust pipe is PVC conduit that I shaped by holding it over a gas stove.
The bends came out really nicely so I wont need to use any filler on it.
IMG_1838.JPG IMG_1839.jpg
The fishtail is made from a separate piece of pipe slid over the first.
I cut two pieces of MDF to form the sides and cut down some half pipe to make the top and bottom.
There's no glue in it, bodyfiller holds it all together.
Hopefully tomorrow is a bit better and I'll be able to spray some paint around.
Cheers.

There was a bit of a brake in the weather this morning so I got some primer onto the parts I'd made.
With the battery box, toolbox and exhaust in place it's starting to look more like an Indian.
IMG_1840.jpg IMG_1846.jpg
I was going to make the seat next but having a look at it I think it might be a good idea to build the front end.
That way I can make sure that the angle of the throat is correct and that it's all going to work.
IMG_1843.jpg IMG_1848.jpg
Better to find out now if it's wrong than paint the frame and then have to cut the throat out and reposition it.
I'm not expecting any problems but I reckon it's better to be safe than sorry.

But the way Cowboy I was thinking the other day, get those folks to bring the crewman over!
With Repliconics written down the side of it and the Indian and Outlaw in the back!!!!!
How totally way kool would that look.
Best I finish my coffee and get back to it before it starts to rain again.
Cheers.
