Thanks Guy's you gave me a lot to think about during the afternoon.
I gathered up all the rims and tyres I have and started swapping things around.
In the end I came up with a combination that I reckon I can work with.
It's an older set of steel rims with the largest tyres I have.

I really was having a think about using the motorcycle wheels.
But Cowboy put my feet back on the ground with one line.
In Trev tradition you are 'making it work'
So thanks mate I'll stick to trying to make it look exactly like what it isn't!
And looking at the picture of the bike I'm sorta kinda basing it on their not to bad.

The lacings not right on the bicycle wheels, but the black rims do help to give
the tyre a larger look.
Anyway guys thanks for your input it was very helpful to me.
I'm really glad to have the wheels sorted.
Now I know what I have to work with.
Cheer,
Trevor.

you're confusing me, I think yuou built your frame the wrong way round. The back is on the wrong sode of the page.
ok I'll just hang around till you have final option (the other hubs may have been a closer match) does that help?

Don't worry about a little bit of confusion Dave.
The hub on the front wheel has a drum brake.
I can modify the bicycle wheel to look very much like it.
Now that I've decided which wheels I'm going to use I can work
around the problems as they arise, and I'm sure they'll be quite a few.
But that's half the fun!
Cheers.

If I said this was a frame for an Indian Straight Four would you believe me?
IMG_1728.jpg
It really looks funny in its component sections.
But once you start putting it together it makes a little more sense.
IMG_1732.jpg
I had a good run at it today and got the steering throat in place.
IMG_1733.jpg
I think with a little luck I should have the frame ready to paint by the end of the weekend.
And yes that is MDF on the throat, when its all painted it will all look like one piece.
IMG_1735.jpg IMG_1734.jpg
The two points in red in the picture below will be the last pieces I wield.
After their wielded I'll cut the ends off and shape the joints.
Hopefully I'll have everything straight at that point.

It's nice to be able to see the area of the petrol tank, I'm really looking forward to
getting started on building it.
I think its all going pretty well, but I'll be glad to get back to making some sawdust!
Cheers
Trevor.

Ok Cowboy,
I don't wont to get to technical on you but stage right would be to the left of the screen.
Otherwise known as opposite prompt.
Stage left or prompt is to the right of the screen.
Direction is always taken as if you were standing on stage looking out to the audience.
So if your looking at the stage from the gallery left is right and right is left.
As it stands the picture of the Indian would exit stage left to prompt!

The Things People Throw Away!
I was working on the Indian the other day when I heard a truck backing up the driveway.
It was the boys from Aroundagain the local recyclers with something they thought I should have.
I don't know that to many people get one of these dropped off at their place everyday.
IMG_1739.jpg IMG_1746.jpg
It's a dolly from a television studio made in the early 70's.
I have to say it's a heck of a piece of engineering, the pan head and the height adjuster both
work so smoothly.
IMG_1744.jpg IMG_1743.jpg
When the guy's from Aroundagain saw it they straightway thought I could turn it into something
like my Dalek from Dr. Who.

I think they were a little surprised when I said there was no way I was cutting it up.
It's just to good as it is!
The first thing I thought was if I make a fake BBC television camera how kool it would look.

You could even make a studio set that looked like it was from the series in the 70's.

I did a quick bit of research online and found that their not the sort of thing you'd be throwing away.
But there you go "One Mans Trash"
It will be some time before I get around to doing anything with it.
But honestly I sometimes just can't believe the things people throw away.

Hate to be the one to throw the bucket of water....
But, the scale is totally inappropriate... It would dwarf your other creations...
Not to mention the fact it is just to realistic looking....
Nope, I'm afraid to say, that simply will not pass muster, no sir, no way...
:tongue
Edit: Either that or it could be utilised as the base and frame of "The Robot" off Lost in Space.... Yes, yes... I can hear it now, "Warning" , "Warning", "Take cover Will Robinson"
