Handy recons we're in the home stretch.....
Handy recons we're in the home stretch.......
He hasn't had to do all the sanding as he says "I'm in charge of inspiration and photos"......
The wheels are still just sitting place ready for glueing as are the Peterbilt "lapel pin" on the sides of the engine......
I'm waiting on another item of Peterbilt merchandise for the truck & trailer before I do the final sand, assembly and lacquer; so hopefully in the next fortnight I'll get a parcel in the post and can finish the truck......
I'm generally pretty pleased with the way the "drop-deck" trailer has come up, I've tried to chamfer off the edges of the Blackheart Sassafras to show off the beautiful colours & figure of the timber.....
It's difficult to take a good photo of truck & trailer as it's something like 40" long [1020mm]....Cheers, crowie

So when do you start on the garage for it as it is so big you won't be able to park it inside the house. Should be just about able to register it.
Coming along very nicely with the light at the end of the tunnel. You're probably already looking for your next projectDallas

Crowie have you thought about where to display your prime mover and trailer, a shelf in the house or in the shed ?
I thought I might build a shelf and display my prime mover on a shelf in the house, but the wife hasn't left me any wall space.
The shelf will need to be about 5 ft long, I guess its out to the garage for me.

G'Day Mc,
I'm going to be in strife when my darling when she sees how long this truck & trailer is, as most of the wooden toy vehicles live in the lounge room for the 2 grandsons to play with when they are here, about twice every 3 weeks....
The boys play with all the toys I make and if required I fix any little breakages or mishaps, which has only happened a few times...
The garage is out of the question as I have it full of my woodworking machinery & timber supplies.....I had to extend it back further under the house some years back as I started to make a place for the woodwork [moved 16T of sandstone across an area 3mts x 4mtrs]...
Cheers crowie...

So the finishing part of the primemover and drop-deck trailer came finally proceed..
I had to tell Handy I need to finish regluing the dining room chairs before we get stuck into the last leg of the Peterbilt, hopefully over the weekend or early next week.

Well the painting is on hold!!!
Well the painting is on hold!!!
We've enjoyed rain in the past 3 days, more rain than in the previous 6 months.....
And look who's returned to his childhood, running around in the rain & puddles.....

I hope the inland of Queensland & New South Wales are also receiving some badly needed rain too!!!!
