Teddy bear bed, cannot find plans :(
I would like to make my daughter a bed for her teddy bear, nothing fancy, just a simple, normal, bed. I thought it would be easy to find plans for something so basic, but I've been looking all day and am having no luck at all. Most of the trouble comes in working out what to search for, I've tried dolly, doll, teddy, teddy bear, bed, cradle (this comes up with results but they're all rockers which I didn't want to use) and all combinations thereof, but I'm having little success.
Does anyone know where I could fiind such a plan? or even the correct terms to use in search? Any help greatly appreciated!I know that you beleive that you understand what it is that you think that I said; But I am not sure that you realise that what you heard is not what I meant

Perhaps find a bed plan (normal size) you like the look of or suits the situation or room and downsize the plan to suit the bear.
For us human types there is mass production and governed a lot by matress sizes, however the bears among us are many and varied and not constrained by such limitations.
Almost any bed you'll find toy wise (tiny doll house minature to a barbie sized one to a bear one) will have to be modified to suit the specific bear in question, so that will be the best place to start.
Hope thats a help.
Neal.

Thanks very much guys, most helpful, I hadn't considered letting her design her own, I guess with something so simple it's not a bad idea, I just haven't had much practice with furniture before, between those designs though I should be able to work something out that's pretty near perfect!
Will post back to let you know how I went
RB
PS was just looking through them when the surprisee came round the corner and went Oooooooo That would make a lovely bed for Melba!!!
so I guess the cat's out of the bag and we've got one excited kid now, which is lovelyI know that you beleive that you understand what it is that you think that I said; But I am not sure that you realise that what you heard is not what I meant

I think with something like a teddy or doll's bed you can let yourself go a little with decoration. For instance little hearts cut out of say MDF and painted in bright colours and glued to the headboard.
Or how about looking for magazine pictures of teddies, angels (every good teddy has a guardian angel), and glue them on, cover with layers of wood glue to form a decoupage. There are always paper flowers, stick on stickers of stars etc.
So, the bed itself can be really simple, and it then becomes something special by being decorated in an individual way.
Cheers
