G'day Don, and welcome. We sometimes talk in code to confuse new members, but if you are undsure simply ask. We say 4x2, not 2x4 - then again lately we've been talking in metricated measurements. Enjoy your visits and believe there is plenty of knowledge with the many hunderds of members from many countries.

    G'day, Don. Welcome aboard.

We're almost a mini-UN here, with plenty of common interests and opportunities to learn and teach (as best we can!). You'll probably need to bookmark an Australian slang dictionary; I still find it convenient. A decent combination metric/Imperial measuring tape will be useful too.

I mainly do turning too, whenever I can. There's about 3 AAW chapters in your area; find them at https://www.woodturner.org/

During my migrant worker days, I resided in Renton and Federal Way, among others. And a cousin in PA is a sign contractor.

Merry and Happy everything to you and yours too, mate.

    Cheers,
    Joe

Hi Don. Welcome to the forum. Us Aussies are bilingual ('strine AND american) and we've probably seen most of the same tv shows and movies. And we welcome all kinds here.

    Welcome to the forum Don.

You will find many generous people on here willing
    to offer advice and information.

Plenty of weird characters too ... you will recognize
them. Just look for the signs - sorry, I realise you have
been making them yourself during your working life.

Hi Don, welcome to the best show on earth.
As you notice we all try to do our best to write in English, for the Aussies and Americans not so difficult, but what to think about this poor Dutchman
