questions #3
I have paid a lot of attention to Surfin's thread and one thing I picked up on is that there are only four mounting points between the frame and the tray. Are 4 sufficient? Are 6 better?
Also, regarding the drawbar, how long is too long? I've got some steel cut and the length I've allowed for the drawbar sides is 2.25m. Have I overdone it? How much cross bracing should I provide if this length is alright?

4 mounts are probably OK for the load that Surfin's carrying, but it depends on the design of the rest of the trailer.
If the 2.25M is from the join at the front where the coupling mounts, back to the spring hangers, then you're probably going to be close. Ideally, from the front cross at the front of the tray to the coupling needs to be a minimum 4' (1220mm). I like to run around 5' (1525mm).Too many projects, so little time, even less money! Are you a registered member? Why not? click here to register. It's free and only takes 37 seconds!
