Depending on your method of attachment, your add-ons are going to compromise the galvanising on the existing trailer. As I understand it, these trailers are manufactured as a kit, to be shipped arround the country flat packed, then assembled and sold. Not exactly the type of unit to upgrade load capacity.

I realize I will have to remove the galvanizing in the region of the weld to get a decent join with the MIG - I'll repaint with cold gal which I have had good success with in the past.

Not really looking to increase the load capacity - just want to be sure it will take the rated capacity with ease. From the formulas I've found it appears the bolt on drawbar with withstand a static weight of 827 Kg - not much over it's rated capacity of 749. I think any added strength will add a better safety margin.

    Hi Wombat2,
Considering the amount of work & money required to be able to bring it anywhere to the capacity you are looking for, personly would put my efforts into either building a new trailer or looking around for a larger trailer to suit your requirements.
