Could I please request that you put a picture up after a year so we can see how it turns out.

I guess you wouldn't know how (un) reliable my memory is, Christos.

OK, I'll try to remember, but no promises!!

To be honest, I'm not entirely happy with the finish, & I will probably have to have another go at it when the weather improves up here. The last week has been damp & cold, which increases the drying time, and I was rushing it, applying fresh coats before the previous ones had hardened up properly. There are still a few less than perfect areas, which I may be able to rub out in a few days when the shellac hardens off more, we'll see. The good thing about a shellac polish is you can just carry on wherever you left off, & keep at it til you're satisfied. Or if you make a real mess (as I did on my first job), just rub it off with fine steel wool & alcohol & start over....

Cheers, & thanks for your interest, eveyone.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

I'm sure Christos will remind you - He's probably already made the diary entry
