Queensland Maple Table
HI ,
I made this table for my son. It is 3 metres long and 1200 mm wide and is made out of Queensland Maple, The red timber is Rosewood. There are 12 Queensland Maple chairs which can be arranged 4 on each side and 2 at each end or 5 on each side and 1 at each end. The angled base allows you to sit at the table with either chair arrangement without touching the base. The bottom rail is held by 12mm stainless steel rod.

Did you make it from plans or is it all your own design?Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Dining Setting
Hello Bikeing Piper,
Welcome to the forum
What a beautiful Dining Setting for your son, he should be very proud and happy with your work.
Did you design this setting yourself?
In particular, I like the design of your chairs.
Can you enlighten me on their design and size?
Great work and thanks for sharing......Glenn

It's my own design, I get an idea of what I want and what timber I have and design and build it as I go and solve the problems as they arise with a lot of thinking ahead

The splats are solid timber cut out of a slab, they fit together like spoons stacked together on their side. You need a templet , I trimed them up with a router with a straight bit with a bearing well thats the way i did it. I've seen 6 or 7 very similar designs in different places i' ve been
