That is a very smart box. Not being very clever at woodwork I bought a Metal chest. Put a couple of wheels on it, cut some vent holes and covered them in wire mesh. Straps to hold everything in place and whalah. Instant chain saw box that holds everything.

I made the handles today, they are made from one piece.

I am not sure how to phrase this question and I am not sure how to ask. How much weight in the box and what strain on the handles. Are these handles meant to carry the box with?

I have no idea, the handles are 35mm thick so they should be strong enough, handles are only as strong as the screws holding them I am thinking of using coach screws to hold then on . There will not be much weight on the base as I am planning to make cradles and trays fixed to the sides to hold the pole pruner and hedge trimmer.

No I can't watch anymore.
Just kidding I love these work in progress.
And it seems that I have let surprise out on the project. I'll get back in my box.

I used my Leigh D24 dovetail jig to cut the dovetails in the past I have struggled with my plunge router, this time I used my new fixed base router it made using the jig so much easier. The router was easier and quicker to set up for depth of cut etc... More importantly I had a clearer view of the work area because there was no crap (plunge mechanisms depth stops etc..) obscuring my view of the work area.
I do not understand why the major manufacturers do not sell a fixed base router in Australia, for use with jigs they so much easier and safer to use for this type of work. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I´m not so sure about the universe.

Looking good.
I assume the handles are to move the box rather than the box and the stuff inside it? If the latter then like cookie48's wheels suggestion make some sense otherwise it looks like carrying will become a 2 person operation.
I wonder how much the box weighs? Somewhere there must be a guideline about the value, weight and danger of the object inside its box, relative to the the weight of the box?

The box is 1040mm long that makes it a two man lift, I don't play superman any more, as tor the stuff that goes inside it can easily be lifted by one man. I think all the weight will be in the box itself.
BTW my wife thinks it is too good to be left in the garage and it should be inside, i said I was OK with that, so long as the chainsaw was kept in the box, I don't think that is what she had in mind. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I´m not so sure about the universe.

I started the fit out of the box today, the trimmer attachment and chainsaw attachment both have their own compartments. I also lashed the handles.

Funny place to put the handles!
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
