Default Suitable timber for an external door?

Hi, i'm keen to try & replace a heritage door (currently aus cedar i think - "cricket bat" style, frame and panel with mouldings) on my house. It cops a fair amount of sun as it faces roughly north, and i'm looking at options to rebuild it in. It will be painted, so i was considering surian cedar, or western red cedar (too soft?), and thought about a maple of some sort - but would the maple move too much? Anyone out there got any better ideas ? thanks!

Wht not replace with Aust red cedar?
Better than western red, easy to work, let me know if you want some, you would need 50mm I think?

I Built ours last year, house faces neally south, which is where we get most of our weather from.

I chose Fijian Mahogony,We live close to the ocean & I finished it with 5 coats of Marine grade polly.
