Knurling
Ah a Hercus forum nice
Any recommendation on what sort of knurling tool I should buy. I have seen the ones that just push against the object, and there is the type that clamp around the object. At trade school we use the ones that just push with great results. I was going to email mick moyles,Cheers

only ever used the push type , and got good results , if I was going to get a new knurling tool I would consider the unit that has 3 sets of wheels with diffrent patterns and can be rotated for whichever pattern you desire

The clamp type puts less stress on your machine's spindle bearings

Sissor type knurling tool
Gene,
Have a look at thread Mini lathe/mill project No.3 Knurling tool, submitted 24th Sept 2007.
Here you will find enough info to make your own, as I did, and it works very well.
The knurling tool described was originally designed to suit a Unimat 3 lathe, but should not be too difficult to adapt it to suit the Hercus.
(a CD is on it's way containing Hercus info, as requested.)
