Hawks
Thought I'd post another I recently did. This is done in natural edge Basswood. The pattern is a free pattern I found at Scroll Saw Village made by "Grampa". I have not applied a finish to it yet because this is one that I think begs to have some color added. When I get brave I am going to give it a try. Just some light coloring on the birds. I have seen them done that way and this is one I think would look good great with some color. Only problem is I'm not talented at painting... but I want to give it a try.

I have done a few of Grampa's patterns also,he is an excellent pattern maker.I love your hawks & think they would look good coloured, probally just a light shading by a water wash would suit it.Cheers Peter.

Hi Paul try airbrushing the birds I have been successful with a few projects a bit of practice is necessary but using acrylic paints is forgiving for a beginner. Have attempted to get basswood here in Aussie for compound cuts on scrolls with no luck that looks like a nice piece of timber.
