I had a maketa saw for a bit over 12months. It worked well and I would still be using it if it could have held the blades. I had trouble with the blade clamps right from the start (plain blades) in the end I was so frustrated with it that I contacted Makita and they recived it back under warrantee. Other wise it was a good saw

I have a makita...not sure which model...
I do not mind it.
The blade clamps are a pain in the ####... but I turned the socket screws around the other way and put a wing nut on the other which I use plies to tighten. It seems to work OK. The pliers tend to save my fingers...hence, be careful not to over tighten.
Another thing....bolt the saw down to a table so that you do not have to chase it while cutting.
Hope this helps.
