Scroll saw advice needed
Hi
I am a potter making clay slabs. As the slabs get larger they get more fragile and need a backing. I want to cut timber about 1/2' to 5/8' in the shape of the irregular slab and attach it to give the slab strength and stability. This will also allow for the slab to hang from the wall.
I have seen the hegner but it seems to beautiful for the task. What scroll saws would you suggest.
Many thanks for your help

If those irregular thick boards is all you need to cut I agree with you.... the Hegner would be overkill. I'd think even a cheap pin blade saw would do just fine.
A few years ago Ken used a the cheapest of the cheap to cut several 3/4" pine boards into puzzles and even some segentation and it worked fine.
You don't even have to worry about breaking thin blades .... you'll need fairly thick ones.
Shoot... if you know someone with a bandsaw they could do that for you really quick. Or.... you could get a small bandsaw instead of a scroll saw?
