McJing have a foot switch listed on their website. (about $86 from memory)
Jaycar Electronics ($19.95) carry them
and so do Dick Smith Electronics

G'day Wanda - My radial arm saw had a crummy British made toggle switch that kept breaking down after 3 replacement switches at around $45 each I spat the dummy and installed a foot switch designed for lights probably similar to the one you have seen. That was about 16 years ago and it is still going strong.

The switch is wired into the line in on the machine and sits on the floor in front of the saw but back far enough that only the operator can get to it. It was very easy to wire in as it came with full instructions.

Thanks everyone - I didn't think of places like Dick Smiths. I headed for the electrical section at Bunnings and a light shop. Will start again!!!

Try your local electrical wholesaler - don't know if you have John Turk's up there. They often carry amazing things you wouldn't expect.

A company called NHP Electrical Engineering specialise in all things electrical, foot switches, motor starters - even single phase with overloads. They are in all capital cities and elsewheres.

They have great cattledogs and are really helpful. They supply to the wholesalers but will sell to the public.
