Lifespan of sanding belts
Do you guys have a rule for how long you use a belt for? Ive haven't really got any way of knowing when a belt is past its use by date, so now I have a ute full of old belts (I find it hard to throw out stuff). Sadly I just got caught out, I was on a job without a new 100 grit belt, so I thought I would just run over it with an old belt I had - stupid me!!!! Left chatter marks on the floor, which didnt show up until I had gone over the floor with a 120 grit disc sander. So, I then went back over the floor with a 80 grit belt and started from scratch - so to speak.
