Gluing Australian Oak / aka Tassie Oak
Hi
Have been reading about using Titebond orignal, for this single bed project I'm about to start, is there another alternative or is the best to go for.
Cheers

Titebond will be fine. Tas oak is one of the good timbers when it comes to glueups.

Thanks for that, I was hoping for an alternative that I could get a Bunnings down the road, since only one shop carries titebond. So I'm off for a drive.

Gorilla Wood Glue is quite good also but don't know if Bunnies stocks it.

Look for one that is a step up from white PVC. I use Titebond 2 & 3
At a WWW show some years ago the guy doing the what,s new session suggested that white PVA was only good for sticking stamps on.
Would like to know what others think?

I have never had a failure with Selleys aquadhere exterior and we turn most of the glue ups we do.

I guess I should have also mentioned PVA as it will do as good a job as titebond. A lot of the WW articals are lifted from americian sources and so mention titebond. Poor old Selleys hardly gets a mention in WWmags but is at least as good.

Absolutely. Selleys or any white/yellow glue is just as strong.
