Smile CNC routing of poplar 4mm wood

    Hi
I am using a cnc router system for cutting 4mm poplar (very soft) wood. I get a lot of shavings when cutting 90 degrees to the fiber dirrection.
I tried various bits and parameters but yet to get satisfactory results.
any assistance in this regard will be highly appreciated
    thanks
    Josh

I work with CNC routers alot. Although i'm not farmilar with the wood i find when things start chipping, i change the bit to a downspiral (instead of upspiral) and make the feedrate slower. Hope that helps

cnc routers use a vacuum system to hold the pieces down so i dont think that will help

    Thumbs up Poplar

OK. Try some very thin hot melt glue in strategic spots so you have a sandwich that can be held by the vacuum.

What Big Gumbo said - spiral cutter bit that pushes the shavings DOWN not lifts them up.
