Default Leaving router plate in router?

    Hey there!
Been looking for an answer to my question for the past hour but can't seem to find it.

When mounting a router into a table do you leave the plastic plate that's on the base of the router on or off? Or does't it matter?
Also does anyone know of a router lift for a hitch m12v?

    Thanks

    Andy.

    G'day groeneaj

The Woodpecker Unilift will fit the MV12. UniLIFT Router Lift

Regards to the plastic plate, it mighn't make much diiference to leave it on, but taking it off will give a few more mm lift. I used to have a TR12 and now a Triton in my r/table - in each case I took the platic base off just so I got the maximum amount of lift from the router.
I make things, I just take a long time.

Take it off - that will allow easier access to the collet nut for bit-changing.

agree, take it off. That extra 2mm or so can be pretty handy. I think the router also fits more snugly when the plastic base is taken off.

Yep, I would take it off.

Certainly took mine off, as stated above, more height available and a better fit agianst the plate.

Doesn't serve any purpose in the router table anyway.
