Hi Big Shed,
You're dead right - I got my phenolics and acrylics mixed up - didn't realise they were different - does make a lot of sense remembering things I'd read about using phenolic plates. The aluminium plate came with 2 insert rings so you have around 30mm, 50mm and 90mm openings - just right for all those different bits I'm going to buy! And there's a lip in the largest opening so I guess I could make some others if necessary.

Looks like I might have to hop on the metal lathe at work too... I like the idea of these height adjusters for the plate. Just have to nut out how I'm going to do it now, but I'll probably wait til I get the plate so as to know exactly what I'm looking for.
This started out as a nice easy little project but somewhere along the way I did it again and got carried away.
