Rust & gunk removal from bits
Hi all,
What's the best thing for rust on router bits? Citric acid (of which I'm a fan). Does that have any detrimental effect on the carbide?
I was thinking to take the bearing bits apart, clean them out and de-rust, oils the bearings, reassemble and Camelia Oil them. They came with a router I purchased (you know the Chinese sets of 40 bits) so they're certainly not fabbo quality.
Thanks, Brett

I use Trend's Tool and Bit Cleaner. There's a video here, but the presenter's a bit of a tool himself!

Dropping the bearings in a cup of hot water helps loosen them. They're not super expensive so it would probably be better to replace the really bad ones
