Template Tom's Videos
I've just received Template Tom's videos.
I could not wait to have a look and boy! What a wealth of infomation is to be had from these CD's.
I always wondered just how to go about using Template guides and jigs to do a number of projects like table legs, boxes etc. Now I know how to do these jobs and I found the videos very well produced and easy to follow.
If you are like me and have been thinking about router templates and how to use them or if they can be used to make your project a bit easier, I suggest you buy Tom's CD's.
Yeah! I know it's a plug for Tom but I think it is justified considering all the work he has done over the years to promote the better use of a fantastic workshop tool.

I asked Tom a while ago ,but got the impression that the cd's were not ready .
Template guides have been on my mind for some time ,I was going to make a 40mm to fit my Makita 3600BR ,but that project is still on the back burner.
I did buy a set of the Triton guides on special at the big B ,but I have put them away some where and forgotten about them .There's not a 40mm guide in the set anyway and my Triton is mounted in the table.
Will get on to Tom for his Cd videos .

Template Tom's DVD's ... now I'm convinced too
I received Template Tom's DVD's on Thursday. Fantastic
I have been fortunate to have seen portions of Tom's Demonstrations at the WA Woodshow, Triton Club and other store demos over the last 3 years. Each time I was impressed enough to resolve to investigate template guide routing. But could never get time off to attend any of Tom's courses.
So with an enforced break from work - I recently set myself the goal of getting a 40mm Template guide at last to have a play.
Co-incidently, Tom offered his DVD's here on the forums ... perfect timing for me after a week off in hospital and great viewing while I am forced to rest and am not able to get back into the shed. So I have watched them over and over and ... over again. They are great. Tom also has some CD's with complete workbooks that step you through projects such as Jig making, Circle cutting, loose tenon joints, 12 sided clock, cabinet handles, picture frames, mitre joints etc.
I particularly enjoy Tom's presentation style. And with the DVD remote, its easy to replay anything that doesn't compute first time thru.
I have viewed a number of excellent instructional DVD's from the likes of Taunton etc. And I believe that Tom's DVD's are similarly excellent ... they have introduced me to a new way of using the router and provided instruction that will allow me to put it into practice. (Armed with a pencil I'm already working on templates to build and use when I can get some shed time.) All this from someone absolutely devoted to his Triton router and table. And off the shelf jigs.
I recommend PM-ing Tom to obtain a set of DVD's. It really has changed my idea of what the router can be used for and the extent. And the safety aspects presented are priceless.
Well done and thanks Tom
Chris
PS Hospitalisation was not related to woodwork ... but has made me realise even more the value of safe wood working practices.
