Dust extraction question
Am I correct in assuming that the shorter the dust extraction hose in relation to the machine performs better? Does the longer the hose reduce the partial vacuum created?Any comments..................Regards...Al

Flow resistance is proportional to the length of hose/pipe and the volume being moved, and inversely proportional to the cross section of the hose/pipe for a straight setup or one with very gentle curves..
So a short fat hose should flow better than a long slender one. Concertina hoses and sharp bends will also reduce flow rates because of increased turbulance and resistance.

Yes it does decrease the vacuum, but in the 1-5 meter range you are not really going to notice it if you are connecting to a high velocity device like a vacuum cleaner.
The longer the hose, the more opportunity there is for it to flop around on the floor and for you to trip over it/tread on it.
