G'day Jake,
The glue nazis will get me, but I actually used Liquid Nails. Where the bits are screwed it sets very hard between the plastic, and for the non-screwed areas it skins over very quickly and slowly cures.
To join the PVC bits I primed them and glued with the Blue PVC gunk that plumbers use.

I like to see work like that, and how you got round the construction.
Unfortunately here in Europe (UK anyway) we have to have a qualified electrician involved for external work, and a certificate at the end of the job.woody U.K.
