    When you say double the length you mean the length from the start of the rectangle section as it leads into the transition to round, i.e. the actual length of the transitional part only? Do you think it'll make a good enough transition as is?

    Like your idea of angled PVC, seems tidier. Now All I need to do is find some PVC sheet, couldn't find any smooth PVC sheets at M10 yesterday.

    Yep - especially if you use the angle PVC idea.

    Maybe a piece of water pipe the city or a contractor is putting underground can be cut and flattened with heat. Nice and thick enough to resist deforming when bolted up.
