Shop vac fittings
Anyone know of any place to get some rubber/flexible hose and couplings for a shop vac? I am having a bit of trouble finding anything (in Aus) to suit my shop vac; its a 32mm outlet

I'd imagine you should be able to get these things from almost any Godfrey's or similar store. I bought the parts I needed from the Godfrey's store in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. They had everything I needed as well as a bunch of fittings I did not know existed.

Maybe a heater hose ? Car spares, wreckers, chain store.

I have a 'real' brand name Shop Vac, and it fits 2.25" collared hoses, such as those sold by Festool (or Mr Nozzle is your wallet is slimmer - see Lee Valley or Rockler) as do the big barrel shop vacuums sold by Aldi from time to time - the pipe may be smaller but the plugs are the same.
I also have an old barrel vac which is not entirely Shop Vac compatible - the hose has a turn/lock fitting and the pipe is a bit smaller, so anything is possible. You may have to make a 'plumber's nightmare' from bits of plastic pipe & one of the one-size-fits-many plastic stepped adaptors that are sold by people like Carbatec to make an adaptor for standard vacuum hoses to fit your particular machine.

oh sweat, that's 3 things now that masters sell that bunnings doesn't , which kind of sucks because i get 20% off at Bunnings
For those interested what i ended up doing was buying a 2-1/2" hose kit from Rockler, and then I will use PVC pipe step downs for the tools that require it.
