Default Combo table saw work station

Ok I have changed locations. I used to have a shed out back and the run of half of a two car garage. Now I am limited to just one area about 24' x 32'. Occasionally I work on aircraft parts so I need the floor clear. For general storage I have put up 46 feet of a single 20" deep shelf far enough from the ceiling to store ten gallon totes. I don't generally store wood for future use, I get what I need for a project. I have a few odds and ends but not a space problem. I thought that housing several pieces of equipment on the same cart might be a good idea. Especially if their requirements are about the same. I am working on combining,
    The power matic cabinet saw
    A router table with storage
A luggable planer that when right side up is the correct height for out feed onto main space and when flipped over the table section is at surface height
A sander on an appliance lift
Drawers or cabinets for storage of applicable parts and equipment to fill dead spaces
    Integrated adjustable support rollers.

looking for pitfalls that anyone may see. I know it will be heavy, the frame alone will have to be substantial. I have a friend that has a large pile of structural steel pieces that has given me free rummage. I picked up the 7 foot front guide bar for a t square type fence for 20 bucks today! So I am kinda figuring on about 7' X 66" work area.

Do you mean something like this?

With the extras you mentioned of course.

Yes that looks great! my saw tilts left so the router station will go on the left side instead. I did determine that I will have to extend the miter slots through the surface behind the saw. I wonder if that is why a surface behind the saw is not generally used. I also figure on putting a lift device behind the saw to tip the front edge of the cut piece for retrieval with out going around to the back. (to simulate letting the far end drop)

Here's a link to another one you may get some ideas from.

Obviously neither of these are exactly what you want. But a combination might be getting closer.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I got the frame together last night. I'll post some pics over the weekend. It is my weekend on 12 hour shifts over night. that'll slow me down a little.

that second link you gave is a very clever use of space! adapted for clamping,a planer, and a chop saw.

got off work this am at six. brought a guy home to help lift the saw into place........oops!
saw area is 1/2 inch too small in one direction! I'll have to cut it out and re weld. I'll see how far I get.

cut it out and welded in the proper location.
My wife and I loaded the saw in place. Now I have to shim the surfaces so that they are coplanar. There are plenty of spots for storage. The planer will attach to the flip table and hang upside down when not in use. The sander lift goes to the right of the planer flip table. For stops to keep the bench in place I ordered some push pull toggles off Ebay for 13.00 @. Here are some wip pics. the router table top will be 3/4" uhmw. the 1/4" steel plate is the sub-table. I still need to cut the hole. The gap between the saw table and the back table area will have an insert 3" wide that will sit on top of the rear rip fence guide. I have set the rear rip fence guide down 3/4". I also turned the legs of the channel out so that smaller clamps can be used when clamping to the top.

Well here is an update on the saw station. I have the saw in place and bolted down. The router station top is fixed in place. The electrical is finished and includes 220 for the saw motor and 110 convenience outlets and a switched outlet for the router. I also wired in a motor starter because the 3 hp motor has had a tendency to eat switches over the last thirty years. The outlet on the bottom of the control box is for the dust collector it also turns on with the saw.

The last is a picture of the t type fence locking mechanism. It all rolls quite easily and locks in place with some machine feet on Destaco type push pull clamps. The planer station is done, it too works according to design. I have the storage cabinets and the sander lift to finish.
Now I have to get back on the house or the saw station will go at auction after my untimely demise.

That's an impressive progress over a short period of time!
