    Default portable work bench

Hi all, been a long time since i been on this site. Anyways to the point....

My current work space is a shed thats not quite a good set up, its my pops shed and i dont like it, and since i dont own the place, and moving out soon, was thinking of building a portable or pull down work bench/'s. I was thinking i work bench that can be pulled down or a bench that has wheels for ease of movement, or involve both.(got to do the same to my pool table). This way when i move out and back to my parents till i finish my trainieship in retail management, i can fold/dismantle when not in use and to save space.

I recently decided on this as i was working on a dart bored cabnit for my brother, and due to cramped conditions in the shed and ripping long peices of wood is a pain in the shed, so i threw together a temp bench out of two seahorses and a metal flat peice to place my triten work center on( i dont have legs as i found it in a junkyard, dont know why, its in perfet condition other than no legs and some chipped paint on the sides). And i loved working outdoors on a wood project, fresh air and very well ventilated( cant get a better ventilation ). And i was using the top of my triten table(with the saw all the way down) as a temp bench and i thought to myself i like this but dont like to use my triten table as a bench. Thats where i came up with the decision to one day make a bench that is portable, small enough to be carried/handled with one person but big enough for a decent work space. Planning on putting on a vice as well. And due to being portable i can put in drawers and shelves(Too much of a hassel to set up and put down in a hurry.

To recap i want the following:
    * Portable(pull apart, folding, wheeled or both)
    * Decent size bench top but small enough for one person to set up.

I do have an idea for the bench top, using a door or lamiated plywood. It will also have four small holes on top to place my triten. I know what some of you might say "why not make two benches, one for the triten one for work bench" but the whole idea is to save as much space as possible. Also when i move back in with my parents my dad also has a newer triten work centre table saw set up like mine with legs(amongst other tools i *cough* borrow *cough*).

So any help, ideas or links or pics of plans would be great!!

How do the sea horses feel about this?

I made myself a portable bench for use when I go chainsaw milling that

Instead of just placing the top on the saw horses, the top has two 65 x 30 mm cross pieces screwed underneath it. The saw horses then grab hold of these and make the top much more stable

This site was pretty good when I was looking for some plans myself. Search for "folding workbench" or "portable workbench" and you should get a few decent ideas. I'm just about to build a bench from one of the plans on there - though a little tweaked.
