You can buy knife blades for the jigsaw. You can even get wavy edged ones like a bread knife.

Nope. Nothing special at all. I got it in a multi pack back in the old GMC days. It is the only one of about four or five that were in the set (probably about 50 blades all up. Certainly it could be sharpened if it ever goes blunt.
Come to think of it there would be nothing stopping an enterprising soul taking on old jigsaw blade, preferably the thinest gauge possible, filing off the teeth and putting a double bevel on each side with a grinder and then touching it up by your favourite sharpening method.
Easy!

Sorry Alan
This must have come in while I was preparing my previous post in response to Brett's comment. I think Nick might have researched the knife blades already, but I haven't followed his link yet.
You certainly could re-shape an old blade. Choose a fine tooth one as there will be less filing involved and it may be a thinner gauge.

Hmm. Went to the trouble of taking a pic and then forgot to attach:

Nick and Tony (and the alter ego, Henry )
It's a night shift thing. We have this unofficial pact (which is constantly flaunted) at work that we don't send night shift emails. This is because at best they are vitriolic and at worst they are gibberish. My post (#319) may have fallen slightly into that latter category .

Work goes on in spite of work
I've been back at traditional work but, like the old days, lve managed to sneak in a few shed hours. This length of flexible is the hinge for the boom and is the last remaining bit of 125mm ducting between the impellor and the split to multiple 100mm ducts to connect the machines ....
image.jpg
I used 125mm only because I couldn't THEN find very flexible 150mm ducting and a 150mm blast gate. Chris Parks helped out with the flexible and so it was down to the gate only.
Ive picked up a 150mm 'damper' from EziDuct as it seemed to be the only non-plastic alternative available and, although a simple design, presents as quite a work of art...
image.jpeg
The damper is made to suit their own steel ducting so a few mods were required to suit my set up. The flanges on the ends of the spigots were removed...
image.jpeg
...and, by the time I came inside tonight, I confirmed that the flexible fits well ....
image.jpeg
......but the other side will require a bit of building up.
I took some flow measurements with the current set up and so will be able to confirm the increase, if any, in flow rate by removing the 125mm 'restriction'.
More tomorrow.......
