Band Saw Blade Storage
In keeping with my New Year's resolution of only making items out of timber I already have in the shed , I have thrown together a Band Saw Blade Storage rack.
I used to have the blades tangled together on a peg on the wall but decided to made a rack that separates the blades.
The back of the rack has 2 keyhole type holes drilled through it for hanging it on the wall or may even hang it on the lower door of the bandsaw.

Scott, I suggest back on the wall, out of harm's way.
Good idea, well executedPat

I think you are right Pat...back wall it is...it's not as if there is alot of distance between the wall and the BS.

Strangely, I don't get any rust probs in my shed. All my steel surfaces stay rust free but I will watch for it BobL

Nice work on the band saw blade storage. You may want to add labels on each space.

Yep..that 30mm high strip along the front will be perfect for that. It is there mainly to stop the blades from rolling out but it can be dual purpose.
I might have a spare length of T track somewhere in the shed which is the type that utilizes the measuring tape inserts.
Fix that to the front and slide a strip of paper in.
It can easily be changed at any time depending on the blades I have.

Looks good!
In my shed, any & every flat surface tends to be a major dust (or shaving) collector, so one question I gotta ask myself when I build this sorta thing is "did you leave openings in the bottom of the box for the crap to fall thru?"
If so, do ya want my mailing address for an "independant evaluation?"

Interesting that the blades are stored vertically. Is this the recommended method, or should they be sitting flat?
Up here in the tropics we would have to put them in an airtight box with silica gel packs to prevent rust
Like the storage idea. Have just bought my first bandsaw and a few blades, and have been wondering about storage.regards,

Dengue,
I have never had any problem storing vertically. There use to be hanging on a peg and haven't deformed.
Not much weight in them and they are not soft metal so they keep their shape.

In keeping with Pat & bosox's suggestions, I have mounted the rack on the wall and labelled the blades using a spare length of T track.
Being a Draftsman I printed out the label for the blades.....OTT but when it comes to my shed my wife says I am Analytical Nitpicking Accurate Logistic based....she shortens it to just the initials ...but I know what she means.

Scott, I agree with your wife
What lives under the BS Storage? Is it above head high?Pat

The label is at eye height but the top of the blades is just below some wood racks. The drill press can move across to below the BS Blades until it hits against the lathe on the right.
Due to most of the walls being concrete I have most of my tools fixed to hanging boards that use french cleats. This allows me to swap machinery around and move the associated tools at the same time with minimum work...just swap the boards around.
