My first bandsaw.
Greetings fellow wood botheres. My first post and second bandsaw, first one was a three wheel Black and Decker. I saw an advert for a two wheel bandsaw and bought it.
I was surprised at the size of it when I went to collect it and it’s condition was excellent.
I paid £220 for it. It’s a rebadged by Axminster but was made in Taiwan.
It’s very well made and works fine but I’m puzzled as to what the two bolts on the side of the table are for. Can anyone help.
I have no idea how you post pictures on here. I searched unsuccessfully for the answer.

Firstly Welcome.
You won't be able to post any pictures until you have posted a few times - then the site administrators tick a box and you will be be good to go.
Does one of those "bolts" cross a gap in the table? If so that one aligns the sides of the table either side of the gap. If it was not there, the table sides may not line up.

Hi BobL, thanks for the reply. I always thought a picture was worth a thousand words. do you know if the admins count replies to posts or just newbies ‘new’ posts?
Anyway, no t the bolt isnÂ’t in the slot but I understand what you mean. This table is pretty substantial and doesnÂ’t flex at the slot anyway, I tried it.
these bolts are on the right hand edge of the table if you were feeding material. They are 8mm bolts.
I havenÂ’t been able to source a manual and Axminster just said they no longer support the model.
it is over 20 years old but in ‘as new’ condition.
if you search in Google for Axminster 350 MM bandsaw under images, there is a picture of the one I have in blue just down on the right.
The chap had to sell all of his equipment due to selling the house as part of a divorce settlement.
I should have bought the lot, router table, radial arm saw, pillar drill, morticer, as everything was as new.
IÂ’ve been very lucky lately as I rescued a MSA IÂ’ve haul of woodworking and engineering equipment that someone was clearing out of a garage. I stopped and enquired and they said they were taking them to the dump. They helped me load the lot into my van. You would not believe the beautiful tools that were there. When I am allowed to post pictures. I will put some up.
I got a scroll saw, electric planer, router table, table saw, 40 English steel wood chisels. All belonged to his Dad but worthless to him. It was sad to think they were going to end up in the bottom of a skip.
anyway, thanks for the warm welcome. I hope I can make a useful contribution.

Welcome, Alan. Yes, replies count so your ability to post pics will happen very soon.
Whereabouts in Herts are you?
Best regards,
Brian

This is incorrect, in fact I’ve seen several posts/threads in the last week or so with pics in first post/thread, please stop spreading this disinformation, the image insert button is available in every reply box.
I’ve looked through all the admin settings and there is nothing to stop first time posters attaching pics.

Hi homey. I’m in Broxbourne. I’m 74, retired at 60 when I sold my business to an employee who realised he would have difficulties running it on his own so I said I’d help him out for a couple of weeks and stayed with him for 5 1/2 years!
I’m never not busy and I can’t understand people who say they’re bored. I’ve also acquired a Leigh D4 dovetailer that I spotted on Facebook marketplace for £50, so I’m looking forward to grappling with that.
I get given all manner of things to repair or make. I love solving mechanical problems. I help a friend out at Rye House kart track so get my share of things to repair. I’ve got the engine builders dial gauge in bits at the moment after he damaged it.
I think you have to keep your brain active all the time. My work partners who retired when I first did, seem to have stagnated and I don’t want to end up like that.
I’ll shut up now,

Posting a pic is pretty simple
Simply click "reply to post"
Then.... click on the little icon that looks like a picture of a tree
Screenshot_20220526-103332_Chrome.jpg
A new box will pop up.
1. Make sure you click on the tab that says "from computer
2. Click choose file. Then find where the picture is located on your phone or pc.
3. Click the little "upload file" under #2

Click submit reply and you're done.

If you're getting issues with it throwing some error about file size its just because the picture file is too big and you'll need to resize it down a bit. I cant remember what the file size limit is.
