New Bandsaw
Picked up my new bandsaw from Carbatec this morning
Just the SW1401 basic 14" single speed no frills model.
Spent about five hours assembling it this afternoon, gave it a basic tune and cut some wood. Everything seems fine.
This is the first time I have used a bandsaw. I have watched the Duginske DVD ( borrowed from the public library), and have bought his book. Those and lots of tips from this forum, gave me sufficient confidence to try some crosscuts and some rips, and I am impressed with the ease of use.
Cuts are a bit rough as yet, using the supplied 1/2" blade, but I am sure they will improve with better technique and some more fine tuning.

Nice Christmas present John...
I agree with all you say....I got a 14" deluxe one of E-bay a month or 2 back. Not much difference...a dust extraction port and different doors, it seems:confused:
One of those tools like a set of Triton super jaws...just don't realise how good and useful they are until ya have em yaself
Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing your first bandsawn box very soon
