Thread: Belt keeps falling off pulleys

My belt is actually 620 mm long. H & F sells one that suits their current machine which is 600 mm long. By manipulating the idle roller on my bandsaw by setting it back the new belt may fit, will let you know if it works.

Got the new belt which is 20 mm shorter than the one prescribed for my bandsaw. At first I couldn't get it to go over the bandsaw wheel pulley and the motor pulley let alone the idler pulley. I tried to manually stretch the new belt and that helped me get it over the 2 main pulleys, I then ran the bandsaw for a couple of minutes and the belt stretched some more so that now I can just get it over the idler pulley as well. It runs and cuts but is not ideal.
Lesson: Keep spare belts because for some equipment they are hard to source.

Glad you're up and running at least. I had a thread just before Xmas saying the exactly that, Muphys Law says that at some point and not a convenient one it will break or fail. Try the washing machine/drier suppliers you might get one the right size.

Thanks Claw and NC for your help on this one. I never realised just how much I rely on the bandsaw and how it is the only tool capable of doing certain jobs. Sure feel it when you need to do those jobs.
