If you search on this BB you will get overwhelming evidence that it is! Its a great saw with 1.5 hp motor, well thats what mine have.

I am also looking at buying a bandsaw. I have the caratec catalouge in front of me. The BAS-350 looks nice, but how about the SBW-3501 for $10 more, or even the WBS-14L for $895?

Considering that I hope the machine will serve me for many, many years to come, maybe it would be wise to pay an extra $200 for something a bit better. Any experiences with any of these models.

That 17" SBW-4300CE for $1495 looks tempting...lets see, if I get 15 years out of my bandsaw, that will only be an extra $53 a year over the BAS-350.

Check the specs.......1.5 hp motor on the Carbatec Perth BAS-350, 205 mm depth of cut, large table, better fence........compared to 3/4 hp, 150 mm cut, small table and pretty ordinary ................................

Make your own decision from that

Fducky, Timbecon has the BAS470(18") for $1549, they also have some new models like TBB-16 for $1,099.00 which lists out quite impressively... has 3hp 2speeds and 250mm of cut height!

I have a BAS350, it has a powerfull enough motor and is satisfactory for what I do, however I found that the frame flexes a bit and it should be bolted to the ground to perform optimally. The finishing could be improved and the plastic wings bolts have been replaced.

It is a good saw and is good value but if I was to buy again I'd spend a little bit more.
