Where can I get a Replacement tensioner?
My homemade tensioner rod on my Carbatec 14" cast iron bandsaw has just died. The thread inside the stainless steel hexagon nut I had made square collapsed and locked itself solid onto the stainless steel threaded rod. I thought stainless steel would be tough enough to last the distance but it seems not - bugger!
I've put the original tensioner unit (threaded rod + square nut) back on but does anyone know where I can get a quality, easy to use tensioner rod + square nut from? It would have to be from someone who will supply mail order to New Zealand.
Thanks

Thanks for Names
Hi all,
thanks for the names and I have sent an email to Gary Pye Woodturning to inquire if he stocks a tensioner rod.
I checked out Highland Woodworking who have a great bandsaw tensioner rod + nut for US $64 but their minimum overseas order is US $100 + shipping charges on top of that! For me, they would be the supplier of last resort (nice website though).
Cheers

My thanks to Gary Pye Woodturning for the new tensioner rod and the improved bottom blade guide assembly that was promptly shipped across the Tasman to New Zealand.
Good advice and service.
