At that price if it was closer I just might. (even if my last purchase hasnt turned up yet , 8 days no contact, that cant be a good sign lol)
Though I really have little idea what it is.
Glass plate camera with a 115mm film(?) adaptor. But why so long? Only camera I have heard of with a ballows so long is for taking pictures from places you cant get by offsetting the lense somehow.

I reckon it's pictures of 3 different lathes, the first picture looks like it was taken in a machinery dealers showroom, the second has different colour backplates on the variable speed panel, the third doesn't have the speed control panel at all...
I'd be extremely wary of this one... it smells like a scam. On the other hand $32,000 for 3 lathes?
Regards
Ray
PS the brake pedals are all different colours as well...

That how bellows cameras are made. Designed to be adjustable in every aspect. You can get very deep depth of field by adjusting the front plate. It can give different depth of field for different parts of the view so bring it all into focus. Length of bellows determines focal length. Lots more besides.

Lodge Shipley lathe
Lodge Shipley Lathe in Melbourne, VIC | eBay
Look at the bed design... It is a complicated setup.. It is not a V nor it is a flat, but a combination..
It is a Model X, actual swing would be 20 1/2" From the WW2 period most likely... Hardened chilled ways..
There is also a 3M X 1M planer for sale at Fiora Machinery in WA... It has had a milling head fitted and they are dreaming at the money they want.... $6600...Light red, the colour of choice for the discerning man.

What are your thoughts on this?
Hi Guys,
Does anyone know much about these lathes?
Lodge Shipley Lathe in Melbourne, VIC | eBay
I have been reading what is available on the internet implies that they are pretty good solid lathes, but I am ‘concerned’ that it may be too big.
I have sent a message to the seller asking for more info, but nothing yet (should that tell me something??)
Happy to have a long term project and it seems to be a lot of iron for not much cash (knowing that it will more likely cost more to move it than to buy it!)
Opinions?
Rodd
PS: the seller also has a Douglas slotting machine for sale if anyone is interested.
