Got booty
Looks like The Body has a bit of junk in the trunk... that's what Lockdown has done to a fair bit of Victoria so it won't look too out of place
Options:
Increase the pitch to 55 degrees; that will allow the handle to sneak forwards
Change from a closed handle to an open handle
Remove the handle altogether and use a bun
and...
"Enhance" the front to match the proportions of the rear. Imagine Marylin Monroe's vital statistics applied to a 4'6" frame...Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

Cklett,
You are on the money, that fat chalky line was copied straight from D8 Disston Hand saw.
I thought I mentioned awhile back that I had decided to go with a closed handle design,
The steel frog, decision was I felt more stable(Massively over engineered)to bed the blade on, even know everyone else is more than comfortable using the rear infill.
So I was just being different(difficult).
Thank for the hint on Ian manual, I had completely forgot about that.
Have been doing some googling research,
I think I might need to do some more.
Cheers Matt

Chief,
You have away with words [emoji6].
Lockdown for me was close the fridge, your not hungry your bored!!.
Change the pitch, um no efff way, the frog is riveted in, the mouth is cut, it would be easier to get a politician to lie straight on there death bed.
I’m really wanting to do a closed handle plane.
Cheers Matt.

Difficult to envision anything with that chunk of wood as-is. Why not rough out a couple of options using some scrap?

Matt
The wood is just fine. You need to adjust the size of the plane.
Regards
Paul
PS: Try scaling down the handle size. A D8 is a big handle. You need a small panel saw size at most.Bushmiller;

Challenge 2020 - 2021 Simplicity
So after picking up my dummy,
I’ve thrown out the hideous over sized D8 abomination.
I think I will use something with a little more pedigree something that has a little bit more class and style and design as a template.
Mark || of Plan handle thingy.
A bit of chop here and there some red paint, Bobs your uncle.
Cheers Matt

Re post #269
I know it's early in the day and my eyes might not be at their best yet, but am I seeing "dings" from miss hits when peening that front dovetail?
Better keep the float glass for another couple of weeks and get "Elle's" skin as smooth as it is in the flesh
Cheers

Bob,”if your comments are in reference to the last pic on my thread.
We need to have a little chat!!!!
That’s the rear end of the body not the front end!.
If on the off chance I have this all wrong, you can find me in the corner rearranging plaster with my fore head.[emoji6]
Cheers Matt.

The body has arrived in her spiritual home, and I think she’s quite enjoying a rock solid bench, no time for a chat there’s work to be done.
Cheers Matt.
Enjoying a Zen moment.
