Default Marine Plywood offcuts in Adelaide

    Hello
I'm enquiring if any boat builders in Adelaide could supply me with an offcut of marine plywood around the size 12mm x 800mm x 600mm?
A 1200 x 2400 sheet is way too much (in size and cost)
    Regards
    Dave

    G'day Dave
as per pm, you will probably have to buy from a boat builder repairer such as Duck
Flat or Clayton Marine at Burton. Yellow pages (page 251) might be your friend?
I've only built kayaks lately so all my offcuts are 4mm.
    cheers

Binks often have smaller bits of ply for sale. Might be worth giving them a ring.

    Thanks for the info, guys
    Nothing at Claytons
Duck Flat will cut me a 1/4 of a full sheet for $60 (ouch!!)
    I haven't tried Binks yet
Its for the baffle of a guitar speaker cabinet, and I may yet end up
    using regular ply for it
    Regards

Is the speaker box to be used outdoors? If not, I cannot see why you need such expensive material. Save your money Dayvo, use structural grade, especially if it will be covered up.

    Yeah. Wot Buzza said.
Unless structural strength is required, you might even want to go chipboard.

    Its for inside only
I frequent a few US amp building forums looking for info, and a lot of them use
marine ply for their baffles, hence the interest
One of the guys from the AGGH forum, who has been mentoring me through parts of my amp build has recently suggested also, that I will be fine with the structural ply, although he does suggest I use 18mm thick as its a 2 x 12 cabinet
So I'll probably take all your advice and go with the structural
    Regards
    Dave
