    Default Replacing Deck Caulking

Well it seems it's time to redo the deck cauking - the weatherman reckons it's gonna rain soon........we'll see!
The decks are 150 x 30mm jarrah with the edges rebated to create a seam 10 x 10mm. This is filled with Sikaflex (the expensive UV version) but it's pulling away and breaking up.
So I'll have to cut it out - hints appreciated - and replace.
From what I've read, 2 pack polysulfide is a better product.
But where do you get it?
    And has anyone used it?
Is there any reason it can't be poured directly into the seam rather than filling into empty cartridges?
    Any thoughts are welcome.

The only polysulfide I ever used was an early sealant for aluminium windows and it was rubbish. If teh sikaflex was pulling away it sounds like the rebate wasn't primed correctly. We used to coat the edges of the boards with epoxy prior to fitting. Also, did you use sika 290DC?

Yes I used 290DC. Don't recall what primer I used. I've heard of epoxy being used as a primer and the Sikaflex applied while the epoxy is still wet. Any thoughts??

Don't know about the wet epoxy, we coated the edges prior to fitting the boards so it was well and truly cured by the time the sika went in. I don't know that much about it as I'm not a shipwright by trade.
