Taipan 4.9 AUS329 'Got Wood'
Gday All
Had a reasonable weekend working on the boat, good weather always helps.
I have fitted the deck stringers and finished coating anything exposed on the inside with epoxy. Cut the fordeck out, steamed it and fitted to the boat to take shape, will glue on sometime this week when it dries out a bit. I will hopefully by the end of next weekend be at the stage of filling a few spots here and there and get ready to mould the beams into position, then a good once over with the sandpaper ready for two coats of diluted epoxy before the painting process. My main was to finish the actual 'building' by the end of this month, so looks like I'm track.

Finally
Well after an eternity or thats what it feels like, the Taipan is one week off ready to hit the water, unfortunately I'm two weeks off
Spent the day putting fittings on here and there, and by the end of the day had enough on to stand the mast up and throw up the sail.
Looking forward to the first sail, should be good.
Regards
Matt

Almost Forgot
Hi All
Yes,she did the water, quite a while a go now. Only good times thus far. Slowly improving bits and pieces as I go.
State titles are coming up on the March long weekend, I went last year to the states, the boat had seen the water 5 or 6 times prior to the event and claimed 17th out of 25 boats, first race I managed a 15th, but I had a few blunders over the rest of the series.
A new Big Head Mainsail has been introduced to the class, and at the moment do not have the cash for one, so I hoping for a reasonable breeze to even out the field.
Just tonight, I have been doing some trailer renovations to make life easier at the end of a days sailing, with a no-tie type arrangement.
Regards
Matt

Howdy Matt,
Any pics of her sailing along? It can be a bit hard to get photos of one's own boat!
Good luck for the states!!!!
