carport base - alternative to concreting
hi,
I am looking for something to use as a base for my garage/laundry/store room as an alternative to laying a concrete slab.
something that will provide a firm base and not turn dusty, and off course the cheaper the better.
I was thinking compacted road base, maybe with some cement mixed in?
any sugestions.
cheers
Bruce

Lilydale topping is good and when a bit of cement is mixed in, it goes very hard.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Compacted granite is your best road base and the cement mixed in to eliminate the dust. I live on granite country and the RTA uses granite as the prefered roadbase around here if they can get it.
