    Default wall height 2680mm

    hello,

    have wall height of 2680mm due to using battens

    will be doing square set

    so question is where is the best place to put cut edge of sheet and why?

    I would do cut edge under cornice at ceiling. Because you want both bevelled edges in centre for jointing, and having the cut at the top allows for any inconsistencies in ceiling height

    Why not just notch out the edge around the furring channel and not cut the sheet which would only have to be done on two sides of each room as the sheeting should go up along side the furring channel on the other two sides.

    Too much like hard work Barry and no benefit.

    With a square set job hang the ceilings first as you can use a little play in the length for ease of getting the sheets up etc.

    By putting up the wall last you will get a tighter internal angle.

    I personally put the cut edge to the floor, as the factory edge will ensure a tighter internal. Also if the skirting is only small, the recessed edge is less likely to show.

    But either way is ok.
