Bedside cabinet for a little princess
Here is a Blackwood cabinet I made for the younger daughter. She wanted one to store her papers, colour pencils (and other junk).
The handles are Huon Pine, the drawer is Pencil Cedar.
3 coats of oil/poly finish then polished with wax.

Nice job! The two woods suit each other nicely, well done.
Can you tell me what you did to make the panels? Are they solid or veneered MDF? If they are solid how thick? I'm in the middle of making something very similar and help would be awesome!

Well done Wongo! Very smart in deed and I see there's a bit of tricky dovetailing going on there too.
Junior junk is just as important to her as your senior junk is to you..
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
Regards, Woodwould.

Thanks WW
Alex, the panels are made of solid wood. They are book-matched and are around 1cm thick.
Thanks everyone.

Lovely cabinets Wongo.
You found some blackwood with nice colour. I like the chocolate brown colouring.
The bookmatching looks good on the panels. How did you get the boards down to 1cm?Scally
