    Very nice. I agree with Waldo, those gum veins really give it some character and visual appeal.

    Yeah I'm quite keen on it myself. Can't take credit for the gum veins, have to thank nature for that

    I sliced the boards for the side panels from a single plank. There is a knot hole near the centre of each panel which goes all the way through and it is filled with clear casting resin. I'm hoping a bit of light will still get in and make them glow. The shellac has tinted the 'windows' a bit but you can still see the sides of the knot holes and the deeper veins.

    It is going to be a smart looking cabinet.

    I like seeing good furniture made out of our 'construction' timber.

    When I saw your first pic I thought it was going to one of those fancy cabinets with no side panels.

    The gummy boards look eye catching though.

    You wont get any criticism from me about taking too long to finish a project.
    It is a hobby, right!
