China Cabinet, prezzie for SWMBO!
Well I've been at it for the last 41/2 weeks and finally have finished my latest project, a leadlight china cabinet as a present for my wife as she has always wanted one.
I looked at all of the bit's of wood laying around the shed, left overs from other jobs, so I decided to bring them all together and see if anything could be made from them.
I have used some pine for the top and bottom (left over from a few projects), then I had a bit of Tassie Oak (left here from the previous owner), a lump of Oregon (from the extensions) and a little bit of Cedar (also left here).
I worked out what could be made from it by drawing a few sketch's and working out how much was needed for each, finally I came up with this.
The leadlight was made by a now new friend just around the corner, as he does it for a hobby and that was the only thing I had to fork out for, as everything else I already had. As it is only the first time I have made a cabinet I am very pleased with the out come, most of the other things I have made are bookcases and blanket boxes, plus a few other odd's and sod's. It also matches a large unit already in the lounge room that wifey wanted last year so it will compliment that!savage(Eric)

It looks great Eic, but your picture is a little too small. It is a .BMP and would probably be better as a .jpg ame size if you can manage it.
Lucky you getting to know a leadlighter as well.
Kind Regards,
Buzza

Great cabinet Eric - there's such great satisfaction in tackling more and more challenging projects, too, isn't there.
Love the leadlighting, too - really sets it off.
Cheers,
Jill

Nice job, isn't it amazing what you can do with leftovers, if you just look at them the right way. Today I will go through my pile of offcuts and review them again. cheers Peter

Well, I gave it to SWMBO today and she loved it, even though it is about a month before her B/day. I was scared I would damage it trying to keep it in the shed as a surprise. So here is a pic with some of her stuff in it.
