    Default Coffee table

Made this coffee table for a friends wedding, been long time in the making as its been way to hot in my shed... only had days here and there, should have taken about a week instead of 2 mths!
Was made to suit a cabinet that I made for them a while ago http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com...ad.php?t=15191 ... explains the colour(not my cup of tea), they wanted a reasonably big coffee table so thats what they got its 1600 long by 750 wide and 500 high, the top opens in 2 pieces that slide outwards to reveal a storage space... all up its 2500 when fully open!(450mm full extension slides)
    Front view

    On top

    Open up and say ahhhh

Thumbs up Harry for the coffee table. The idea of the extending top is excelent. I havnt seen anything like it, well done on an original idea made so well I looked at the other cabinet in the thread posted and realy like the way you have approched the storage of the wine. If you do it again think about putting full extension runners on them so you can pull the wine out for clear easy viewing

    G'day Harry,

That's a terrific looking table, even though, like you, the colour wouldn't, perhaps, be my first choice.

Shows some nice dimensioning and some great woodie skills

    Gets a cheer from me!

Harry, that sliding top for storage is a brilliant idea for a coffee table, prolly never would have thought of it!

    Inferno, Its english mohogany...

    stained crapiarta!

Lig, the opening top is not really my idea got the idea off've BH&G's, I just developed it a little more.
There's also some castor's underneath it, they tend to eat in the lounge so they need it to be movable.

Nice Table!!! Looks very solid, and finished well.
    Should last generations.
Would be interested to see the guts of it.
