Here's something I also, " Play with," - its actually quite profitable too;-
Wooden Signs, & designs. Some I cut freehand with my Trend Router, and a 1/4" straight-cutter, then high-light the words with a contrasting enamel; some have the lettering, etc, cut on my scroll saw, then I attach the lettering, etc., to a backboard, some are woodburnt. I receive orders from local customers, Adelaide customers, and as far away as Brisbane. Currently averaging about one order / enquiry a week. Also have an extensive range of Humorous Signs which are also very popular.
If you see something you like in the below photos, simply PM me and we can discuss your requirement/s or suggestion/s, ideas, or whatever.

Nice work. Just wondering, how do you get your clients? I have things I want to sell but don't really know how to go about it.

How to find clients
Finding clients / customers who wish to buy your products,- These can be a headache for many woodies whether they be new to this site, or longtime members. Over the years I have discovered that Newspaper Ads DON"T work. Even special feature editorials in local regional / community newspapers always seem to cost more than they are worth. I do have a website which is used mainly for referring clients to, which I find is a good idea, for those who know how to access the internet, ( Yes,- there's still heaps of people who don't even know what the Internet is,- let alone how to access it )
My best way of attracting clients is a simply, basic half-page Promo Flier, which I have designed myself, set up so I get two to a standard A4 page, which I print off and distribute to our local Tourism Caravan Parks, etc., plus place in various local town noticeboards, and I pick-up clients from these,- also it does pay to have some form of home-based display where you can show your work to visitors, and, best of all,- find a local shop, or two who will put in your work on Consignment,- one shop per town is all that you require. Selling your own creations is NOT easy at any time, believe me. It took me almost TWO years of, " nagging,' to convince the Port Vincent Newsagency to put in my wood crafts in one section of their shop. Now they are wishing they had put them in sooner, instead of dragging their feet for so long. Currently supply 3 shops here on the Yorke Peninsula, and about to get another one, plus a lady who sells my Wood Crafts at various Adelaide Craft Markets,- all of which helps.
IF you seek more detailed info, or even need info on how to set up your own Promo Flyer, or even how to approach suitable shops, or anything else that you need to find out about, simply PM me, and shall have a go at giving you a bit of personalized assistance.
Wonder how many members on this site have the same problem when it comes to finding clients, customers, or buyers ?
Maybe I utilize my 25 yrs,( or so ), background of Wood Crafts Info, and put it to good use for a small fee to help those who are getting started with making various Wood Crafts for sale, as might,- just might be able to save a few people a few headaches,- What do you think in this regard ???
Over to you
Roger
