Hello Jack,
You've done a great job on the table and chairs, really nice design, and a bold use of timbers. Would have to be up there amongst my favourite designs I've seen on the forum so far! The bar keeps rising!!
Cheers,Andy Mac

Outstanding work JackG. Looks fantastic. Consider the table design copied and I would love to tackle the chairs as well but I don't think my joinery skills would be up to par!

Give yourself a pat on the back - that is excellent work you've done. I really like the design - definately not Ikea!

Thanks again all for the kind comments and the greenies , I was quite proud but you guys just hit right on the nail, the design and balance is what is most difficult for me to generate and appreciate, I am very glad you liked it, then when I see that TTIT gets some inspiration from it? I couldn't have read comments that made me happier
Here is the bonus, dimmensions are not strict, some are just adjusted to the stock.

Ta for that Jack - very generous ol' son. That design would work well for an outdoor table I'm planning from Macrocapa. No flash chairs though.
BTW I made a tabletop from 200x50 planks, and had it laquered. Very durable surface, but the seasonal movement caused cracks in the laquer on the end grain. I think that I would use Danish oil next time, with only a few coats on the end grain. The only way to get rid of a [Domino] temptation is to yield to it. Oscar Wilde

Excellent. Love the contrasting wood. What method did you use to join the table top?

The top is just edge glued, being long grain and plenty of surface there should be no need for bisquits... time will tell...

The table and chairs look great Jack.
I like the weight of the table.
The double stretchers look good and the pegs add extra style.
You did a great job matching the boards for the table top the whole top flows well.Scally
